Date nights at home - Themes

Part of our date night 'rules' of sorts is that we have a theme.

The idea of the theme is so we don't end up sitting in front of the tv watching a movie, while we love cuddling up and watching movies together it gets to being a rut.

So tonight's theme is...

So we will have a nice candlelit dinner
(no wine as I don't drink)

and music

Gluten free and Dairy Free Chocolate Devil's Food cake! Yum!

And some dancing which on top of being a nice way to end the evening, it  is also partly practice for our friend's wedding at the end of the month.

You can never have too much dancing practice don't you agree?

This is our version of romance, we like corny and having fun with it, if you take it too seriously it loses what the time is meant for, connecting and reconnecting.

What's your version of a romantic at home date? Have you had one recently? Maybe you should ask them out for Saturday night, I like this idea, it's very cute!

Now if you will excuse me, I have some music to put on and some candles to light....

Have a good night, I know I will.

Queen of the Monkeys xx

  1. Oh God. The wave of inadequacy and marriage-envy is almost too much to bear! But of course it's a really good idea and I hope you have/had fun!

  2. King of the Monkeys used to work away a lot (8 weeks on 4 days off, 6 weeks on 1 week off type ratios) so we realised especially having kids we need to make the most of our time together.

Now he's home all the time so you can get a little too comfortable and rut like with that, I thought if I blog about it might inspire some other couples to make the most of it ;)
